Lynn Redgrave dies from breast cancer

Award-winning Broadway actress and film star Lynn Redgrave died Sunday at her home. She was 67. The younger sister of film actress Vanessa Redgrave and daughter of actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, Lynn worked as a Broadway actress for many years. She lost her long-time battle with breast cancer on Sunday night at her home in Connecticut. Her death was confirmed by her agent and later by her family who made an official statement on her website. 「Our beloved mother, Lynn Rachel, passed away peacefully after a seven year journey with breast cancer. She lived, loved, and worked harder than ever before,」 read her family』s statement.

Matt Damon and wife expecting third child

Actor Matt Damon, 39, and his wife, Luciana, are expecting their third child together. The couple currently has two daughters Isabella, 3, and Gia, 19 months, while Luciana also has an 11-yearold daughter from a previous relationship. The couple met in Miami, where Damon was fi lming a movie, and his wife worked as a bartender. They married in December 2005.

White House Correspondents』 dinner held

The lights shone a bit brighter in Washington, D.C., on Sunday as the President and First Lady dined with the biggest names in Hollywood at the White House Correspondents』 Associate Dinner. The annual event, which seems to draw more and more celebrities each year, hosted such big names as Jay Leno, Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas, Queen Latifah, Alec Baldwin, Jimmy Fallon, Ewan McGregor, Betty White, Morgan Freeman, Scarlett Johansson, and many more.

New York』s Tribeca Film Festival announces winner

New York has just wrapped up the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival season and the 2010 Heineken Audience Award has been announced. The winner is Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage, a documentary on the Canadian rock band. The directors of the film, Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, walked away with a $25,000 prize. The second place winner was Snowmen, and in third was a New York documentary titled Arias with a Twist: The Docufantasy.

Wedding bells ring again for Mariah and Nick

In honour of their second wedding anniversary, Mariah Carey, 40, and husband Nick Cannon, 29, renewed their vows at their Beverly Hills home, last week. According to the website, TMZ, the bride 「wore a veil and a lacey white dress, while Cannon sported a dove-white suit, as the duo exchanged rings to the sound of a string quartet.」 According to the report, Cannon also gave his wife a new ring in the shape of a candy Ring Pop, which was covered in diamonds and pink sapphires and was designed by Jason of Beverly Hills Jewellers.

New album for Toni Braxton

Toni Braxton is stepping back into the spotlight with the release of her new album Pulse. It has the potential to become another successful addition to a decade-long list of platinum records by the pop and R&B artist. Braxton appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US to perform the new single 『Make My Heart』. Her voice shone brightly with a full band and tightly sequenced dance moves.
