油價調漲

Taiwan Raising Its Fuel Prices　　 台灣提高燃料價格

　　Anchor:A surprise announcement by the country's cabinet has Taiwanese crowding petrol stations around the island to fill up before the government raises fuel price.

　　新聞主播：台灣內閣突然宣佈提高油價，使得台灣人蜂擁至全島的加油站，為了在政府提高油價之前加油。

　　STORY:Taiwan's decision to raise fuel prices marks the latest move by Asian economies, such as Indonesia and Sri Lanka who are doing the same.

　　新聞內容：台灣決定提高燃料價格，代表亞洲經濟體的最新行動，像是印尼與斯里蘭卡也正在這麼做。

　　Kaohsiung Resident：「I have trucks capable of 20 tons, five tons and three tons, but these buckets will only last about three weeks.」

　　一位高雄居民說：「我有20噸、5噸與3噸的卡車，但這些桶油僅能夠持續用約三個禮拜。」

　　Taiwan is among many Asian countries facing the double blow of slowing economic growth and rising inflation.

　　台灣是在許多亞洲國家之列，同時面臨經濟成長遲緩與通膨上升的雙重打擊。

　　Liu Chao-shiuan, Taiwan Premier：

　　「We are only reflecting the cost of international oil gas prices and to avoid the psychological impact of inflation, the inflation will become effective starting from midnight of May 28.」

　　台灣閣揆劉兆玄說：「我們僅僅是反映國際油價成本，並且避免漲價的心理衝擊，調漲將會自5月28日深夜起生效。」

　　Economists expected May's Consumer Price Index to climb by 4.4 percent from a year earlier, higher than April's figure, and has a current forecast of 2.8 percent for the full year.

　　經濟學家預期5月份消費者物價指數，比4月份的數字高，較去年同期上揚4.4個百分點，目前預測全年的指數是2.8個百分點。

　　The government will also lift power prices on July 1st.

　　台灣政府也將在7月1日提高電費價格。
