一、Out of sight, out of mind.

意謂離久情疏，不一定指人與人之間的感情，對其它事物也可應用，眼不見，自然容易忘記。

sight：名詞，指視覺、眼界、風景

─in sight看得見了

─Peace is in sight.和平不遠了。

─love at first sight一見傾心

─get out of my sight滾開

─a beautiful sight美景

mind：名詞，指記性、意見

─bear in mind記在心裏

─lose one's mind發狂

─absence of mind心不在焉；public mind輿論

動詞，指留意、小心

─mind your head（orstep）小心你的頭或腳，指提醒他人時用

─mind your own business不用你多管閒事

─never mind不要緊；

─never mind him不要管或介意他（口頭語）

─mind what I tell you留意我的話

二、Gather roses while you may（can）:意謂有花堪折直須折，莫待無花空折枝。指要抓緊時機。

gather：動詞，指聚集、摘取、增大

─gather strength增加力量

─gather ground得勢

─gather one self up打起精神

─dusk is gathering暮色漸濃
