人是為了希望而活著的。
人不能沒有希望；一旦沒有了希望，活著有甚麼意義？倘若如此，生不如死。
希望是一座燈塔，指引航海者渡過茫茫大海，抵達彼岸。
希望是一盞明燈，引導著人走向光明的前程。
希望可能有好多。各人不一定每樣都擁有，或取其一，或取少許。一個人如有數個希望，總要有一個作為主要希望。那是他要盡最大力量，全力以赴的。
農人要耕地，以養天下之人。
工人要製器，以供利用。
商人要搬有運無，以便貨暢其流。
教師要教育好學生，使成有用。
軍人要保衛國家。
……
希望的達成如何？許是完全達成，許是部份達成，依能力、機遇而定。——當然每個人都希望以能力達成，不靠機遇。
努力達成希望，是人生一大樂事，所以人人希望達成希望，不致落入失望。
希望達成希望，只是希望，還是空的；最重要的是，努力以赴，達成希望。

Human being keeps alive in order to hope. Any person can't have hope; what is the meaning to keep alive without hope one day? If so, to die is better than to live.
Hope is a light house which guides the sailor to cross the vast ocean to arrive the termination.
Hope is a bright lamp which leads a person to go to the sparkling future.
It may be many hopes. Uncertainly everybody must hold every hope. He may hold one, or some. If a person holds some hopes, he will always choose one to be his main hope which he must finish as best he can.
Farmers must till the land for nurture all the people.
Workers must produce instruments for utilization.
Merchants must convey materials for flowing.
Teachers must discipline students for employment.
Soldiers must guard the country.
……
How to achieve the hope? Man may complete all, maybe some. It depends on the ability, or opportunity. ── Of course, every one hopes to accomplish owing to his ability, not opportunity.
Making an effort to succeed is a joyful thing, so everyone hopes to perform the hope, not to lose it.
Wishing to fulfill the hope is only a wish at all, then it is still empty; the most important thing is struggling for carrying out the hope.◇
